Wonderful visit to Harataunga (Rakairoa) Marae

This morning at 10 am a group of Tuateawa residents were welcomed on to the Marae. A huge thanks to Kelly who shared her extensive knowledge in the Wharanui about the carvings and Tukutuku and to all others who shared their knowledge.

We moved to the Whare Kai for morning tea after which Mereama did a caring and sharing Talk about the book that is being written on observations of nature and The Maori ancestors stories which is going to finish  by Mereama followed by an insightful and moving power point presentation by Jacqui on how we can all take a small step to start our journey of helping to save our flora and fauna and the planet. After that we were invited to share in a beautiful Kai.

A huge thank you to you all for your open arms welcome and generosity of your time.

I feel sure I can say it was received warmly by all who attended.
